San Diego City Council hears testimony from the MMJ community representatives on April 12, 2011. The ordinance, which passed with slew of zoning constraints pertaining to only industrial and non-residential zones, 600ft. distance requirement from common buildings including residences and churches, causing it to be an effective ban.

The city council of Imperial Beach has managed to outlaw medical marijuana dispensaries by using zoning laws. At least that’s what marijuana advocates are saying; they claim the ban is illegal. It makes the small seaside community the latest among many California jurisdictions to get rid of pot dispensaries, despite what state law says. Dwane Brown has the story.
