Sarah Angelina Chavez was born on December 5th, 2002 in California to her mother Sophia Chavez. When Sarah was born she was found to have Vicodin in her system. A case worker opened up a file on Sarah when she was two days but never followed up on the case. January 1st, 2005 Sophia was taking narcotic while she was pregnant with her another child. Sophia called the 9-1-1 saying she had a miscarriage at her home. When paramedics reached her home they found her stillborn baby in the toilet. Fearing for Sarah social workers tracked her down and found she was with a great-aunt, Frances Abundis. When they arrived at the home they found Sarah with two black eyes and a cut on her nose. Sophia was considered an unfit parent. The social worker feared for Sarah so they had her removed from Frances and placed in protective custody. Sarah was placed with two women, Dianne Hardy-Garcia and her partner, Corri Planck after they were checked and went through different procedures. “She had chocolate all over her face, and she had a candy cane in her mouth, and I brought her a little teddy bear and she jumped in my arms,” Dianne Hardy-Garcia. While at her new home Sarah had toys, books and her own room. She loved to watch Mary Poppins. Sarah also had a little pet schnauzer, who would sleep outside Sarah’s door. MONTREAL While he was smuggling drugs into the Montreal Detention Centre where he worked as a guard, Pierre Arold Agnant dreamed of using the money to buy a luxury home he could retire to in his native Haiti. His accommodations for at least the next four years will be considerably less comfortable. Agnant, 47, was sentenced yesterday to the equivalent of a nine-year prison term, less one year for the time he has already served behind bars. Superior Court Justice France Charbonneau also ordered that Agnant must serve half of the remaining eight years of his sentence before he is eligible for parole. Dressed in a dark suit and tie, Agnant did not react to the sentence. He was convicted in December of breach of trust, drug trafficking, conspiracy and committing a crime for a criminal organization. Prosecutor Richard Audet said he believes the nine-year prison term is the harshest sentence a guard has ever received in Canada for smuggling drugs into a prison. In 2008, Alice English, another former guard at the Montreal Detention Centre, received a 66-month sentence for attempting to smuggle in drugs. In her case the court heard evidence she made just one attempt. Agnant smuggled in contraband at least 19 times. Because the sentence is more than two years Agnant will likely be deported to Haiti when paroled. Criminals who are not Canadian citizens and are sentenced to more than two years are not able to appeal decisions made by the Immigration and Refugee Board. Agnant moved …

This is the worst case Barry has seen. The motorist was pulled over for a traffic violation and refused consent to search. If the K-9 handler can get his dog to alert, the auto can be searched. This handler walked the dog by the driver’s door a dozen times before coaxing him to alert by stimulating him with his toy reward. A legitimate alert would have happened the first or second pass at the door. The K-9 officer turned his mic off so there is no audio. The motorist was illegally arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. Kopbusters will be monitoring this case and reporting the outcome. Chicago Criminal Defense Attorney, Gal Pissetzky Argues for Light Sentence and Wins!April 2009BC was charged with a large drug conspiracy in a Federal court case. He was personally responsible for distributing over 200 kilos of marijuana. After intense negotiations with the government and without ever having to become an informant or snitch, Mr. Pissetzky convinced the Judge that BC should receive a very short sentence of four months. Mr. BC was facing up to 40 years in prison. The Judge agreed with Mr. Pissetzky and sentenced BC to just 4 mos.
